Beyoncé stars in the latest Levi’s campaign, dubbed “Reiimagine.” It offers a modern take on the brand’s Launderette ad, originally released in 1985. “I am honored to work with Levi’s to create quintessential American iconography,” Beyoncé said in a release. “Denim on denim has often been seen through a male lens, so this reimagining campaign, which celebrates the iconic female perspective, is important to me.” The campaign video was directed by Melina Matsoukas and filmed by Marcell Rév. After a decade at The Wall Street Journal, fashion reporter Jacob Gallagher has joined The New York Times Styles team. Gallagher is known for his full-picture reporting that covers fashion, politics, business and status. He even broke the news early that Pharrell Williams would succeed the late Virgil Ahloh as menswear designer at LVMH, forcing the brand to announce the appointment earlier than planned. The program that teaches couture skills behind bars
Cooperativa Alice is taking an unexpected route to meet Italy’s demand for luxury artisans: The company employs inmates and trains them in artisanal practices, which they utilize for Emporio Armani and Aspesi. The program pays standard industry wages and aims to rehabilitate and ease the reintegration process for inmates.
