A Karl Lagerfeld retrospective is reportedly coming to the Met
Sources tell WWD that the late, great Karl Lagerfeld will be the subject of a retrospective exhibit at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, curated by Andrew Bolton. Few details are known, and the report has yet to be officially confirmed by the museum, but the exhibit is allegedly set to bow in 2022. {WWD}

Prada sees 46% growth in profits
2019 is looking good for Prada so far. Thanks in part to the Patent Box tax relief, the Italian fashion house’s profits rose 46.6% to €155 million in the first half of fiscal 2019. Net sales also rose 2%, owing to an increase in full-price sales and consistent demand for both Prada and Miu Miu collections. {WWD}

Meghan Markle launches charity capsule collection for Smart Works
The Duchess of Sussex’s guest-edited September issue of British Vogue is the gift that keeps on giving. In it, she also details a new partnership with the charity Smart Works that prepares underserved women for job interviews with donated clothing and coaching. Markle worked with Marks & Spencer, John Lewis & Partners, Jigsaw and Misha Nonoo to create a capsule collection of classic workwear pieces where for every piece purchased, one is donated to the charity. {Vogue UK}

Loeffler Randall launches jewelry
Cult-beloved shoe brand Loeffler Randall is expanding: Having recently debuted hair accessory and bridal ranges, the label officially entered the jewelry category Thursday with a new collection of earrings, from simple gold hoops to statement pearl danglers. {Fashionista Inbox}

Beauty has a glitter problem
Cosmetics companies are using glitter in their products more than ever, but that’s coming with a significant environmental cost, as their production releases tiny bits of plastic into the water supply. “Any brand that doesn’t [find a sustainable source for glitter] in the next year will fall out of favour,” Emma Grace-Bailey, beauty editor at WGSN Beauty, tells Business of Fashion. “People just won’t buy it anymore.” {Business of Fashion}

Tiffany & Co. readies major exhibit in Shanghai
The world of Tiffany & Co. will be on full display at the Fosun Foundation Shanghai from Sept. 23 through Nov. 10. The exhibit will include the most important objects from the iconic jeweler’s archives and document a number of Tiffany milestones, like the introduction of the modern engagement ring. The sure-to-be-Instagrammable feat will be divided into themes: One room will be filled with colored gemstones; another will detail the company’s presence in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Get a sneak peek in the video below. {Fashionista inbox}

Target is bringing back its greatest designer collabs hits
This is big news for anyone who missed out on a past coveted Target designer collaboration: To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its popular collections, the retailer is re-releasing items from some of the most popular lines, from designers like Jason Wu, Anna Sui, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Zac Posen, Missoni and more. Prices will range from $7 to $160, and hit Target stores and target.com on Sept. 14.
