Model Tabria Majors Loves Cécred's Hair Drops and the Jacquemus x Nike Collab

What’s the opposite of gatekeeping? Welcome to “Payment Processing,” in which we ask stylish, generally cool people who’ve tried it all about their favorite fashion and beauty buys.

As excellent as she is at her job, Tabria Majors is much more than a model.

She’s also a podcast host, social media influencer and longtime body positivity advocate. But her most meaningful title of all, in her opinion, is being a mom. She welcomed her first child, a baby girl, in August 2023. Naturally, life hasn’t been the same since then. Neither has her personal style.

“I swear after becoming a mom — I feel like it’s such a cliché because everybody goes through this — but you really lose a sense of style,” she tells Fashionista. “That’s not to say that there are moms who aren’t stylish, there certainly are, but I feel like you really have to make that a priority.”

Her off-the-clock wardrobe of choice? Anything comfortable. Most days she kicks back in sweats, leggings, baggy pants and crop tops. “My daughter just turned two, and I feel like I’m just now getting my ‘style’ back, but I’m trying to redefine it,” she says. “I feel like whatever style I have now, I don’t know how to define it. […] So I’m on that journey.”

In her defense, on top of being a full-time mom, she’s had other priorities on her calendar, one of which is being a brand partner for Torrid’s 2025 Casting Call, a nationwide model search open to everyone of all ages and sizes. Fifteen finalists will participate in a modeling bootcamp in Los Angeles, complete with mentorship and professional photoshoots, with the ultimate five winners to be featured in a campaign.

“I got my start as a model from a casting call,” Majors recalls. “It literally changed my life, and this is an opportunity that can do the same for someone else. And also because it is with Torrid, a very size-inclusive brand, it’s amazing that women of all sizes will be represented. […] Having that representation on full blast, the more that we see diverse bodies and diverse ages represented, the more normalized it’ll become.”

Ahead, Majors discusses the shoes she’s stalking on resale markets, her love for cotton underwear and the jeans the girls and gays can’t stop complimenting.

What’s a luxury beauty item you’re into right now?

I’m really into the Cécred hair drops right now. Look, they work. They work well. I’m not sponsored by them. Never have been. Those drops will do wonders for your edges and hair growth. They are the real deal. They’re worth every penny.

What’s a drugstore or mass market beauty item that you’re eyeing right now?

I’ve really been into press-ons lately just because they’re easy to pop on and pop off. So I’ll just go to the drug store, get some little Kiss press-ons, pop them on and I’m done.

What’s a beauty staple you love so much you’ve bought multiples?

I love the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser. It’s an exfoliator, but it really helps with hyperpigmentation. I always keep it stocked.

What’s an accessory that you’re eyeing right now?

I’m eyeing all the Coach handbags. They are killing it. I love the designs. I literally look forward to seeing what’s coming up for their next run of bags.

What shoes do you want to buy right now?

I can’t believe I missed this drop, and I had it in my calendar and I still missed it, but the Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoes. Fire. Very good. I wanted the red ones so badly. They sold out so quickly. I will be on the resale market looking for some of those.

Are there any other luxury items that you’re eyeing right now?

I really like the Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum. I feel like my skin looks really clear and very even after I’ve used that consistently.

What’s an affordable fashion item that’s on your shopping list?

I am going to say this and it’s going to sound ridiculous, but I’m really trying to be more conscious of the fabrics that I buy. So, just finding some 100% cotton underwear. You can never go wrong with that. Getting older, and you receive underwear, socks and pajamas as Christmas presents, that’s a good Christmas present.

What’s a wardrobe staple you love so much you’ve bought multiples of?

The Torrid Bombshell Jeans. Every time I wear these, no exaggeration, I get complimented on them all the time by women and gay men. So you know, when those are people who are complimenting you, it’s a genuine compliment.

What’s the last product an influencer or celebrity influenced you to buy?

There was a beauty influencer — and this was a product that had nothing to do with beauty at all, so that’s why it piqued my interest — but she had a Gardyn Indoor Tower. I’m growing plants and have greens, tomatoes and cucumbers growing right in my kitchen. Even though I’m hardly doing any work, you just feel very connected to the food that you’re eating.
