Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world’s eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We’ll be following the Meghan Markle Effect with our column, “Meghan Markle Wore a Thing.”

After months of waiting — nine, to be quite specific — baby Sussex has made his official debut, and we are swooning. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex make an adorable family of three with the new addition.

Meghan Markle skipped the tradition of appearing outside the Lindo Wing hours after birth, instead appearing a few days later (Baby Sussex was born on Monday) for an intimate group of press at Windsor Castle, where Baby Sussex was set to meet his very important great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The Duchess of Sussex chose to wear a sleeveless trench dress from Wales Bonner for the occasion. She completes the look with a pair of nude suede BB pumps from Manolo Blahnik and a delicate turquoise necklace from Jennifer Meyer.

With his debut, Baby Sussex gets his first official fashion credit, too: He appears swaddled in a merino wool “leaves & flowers” shawl from GH Hurt & Son, whose blankets have also appeared at the debuts of his cousins, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte.

Baby Sussex’s name is expected to be announced later today. We’re sending all our best wishes to him and his parents at this happy time!
