Origin Story: Mar Soreli launched in 1980, when founder John Fluevog moved to Miami for eight months from Friuli, Italy. Its designs are inspired by Friulane shoes, a traditional and versatile handcrafted Italian slipper born more than a century ago when women wanted to offer their daughters “creative alternatives to the everyday wooden clog.”
Mar Soreli’s shoes are hand-sewn by local artisans in Carnia, using bicycle tires for the rubber soles, colorful velvets, prints, brocades and precious embroideries.
