Linder Sport is looking for a store manager to manage our retail location in the West Village. The position is full-time and entails the oversight of the store itself, its merchandise (casual menswear), maintenance of a clean, attractive visual environment including frequent refreshing of window displays and in-store merchandising, oversight of retail associates including scheduling, hiring and training, and good communication and initiative with regard to sales performance and ways to improve it. Very important is building and maintaining relationships with regular clientele.
Responsibilities:
● Ensure the store is always attractively merchandised, clean, and representative of the brand.
● Cultivate a reputation for excellent customer service and relationships in this neighborhood-focused store.
● Monitor and report on buying trends, high- and low-performing products, and the efficacy of other store decisions such as product rotation, displays, and store hours.
● Track inventory levels and be accountable for replenishment and restocking.
● Hire, train, and manage retail staff. This includes scheduling as well as supervising to ensure associates are performing up to expectations in terms of personal presentation, maintenance of the retail space and especially customer relations.
● Maintain amicable relations with the other businesses on the block and with local residents. Encourage mutual patronage.
● Present ideas and action plans for further promotion of the store and the brand, whether through events or product offerings or any other promising opportunities.
● Plan, communicate about and staff regular in-store events.
Qualifications:
● 3 years experience in retail sales.
● Experience as store manager preferred.
● Ability to convincingly present oneself as an exemplar and ambassador of the brand.
● Extremely good relational and communication skills.
● Ability to rigorously maintain the brand’s image through constant caretaking of the retail space and oversight of all store staff.
