Whether it’s for a casual coffee date, a day at the office or a holiday party, let’s acknowledge that knee-high boots are a wardrobe chameleon, integrating themselves seamlessly into pretty much every look. Taylor Swift knows this, and, as of late, has been partial to Reformation’s River style in red (of course) for her New York City outings. Coincidentally, I’ve been wearing these out over the past couple months, and, now, they’re in my permanent rotation.
There’s no point in having a fabulous shoe if it kills your feet. The block heel comes in at just under three inches, which means the boots are are comfortable enough for 10,000-step days. And while they run true to size, I still have enough space for a thicker cozy sock on aggressively wintry days.
The leather shoes offer plenty of styling options. The recent birthday girl, for one, has worn hers with sheer tights, a mini skirt and an oversized, shearling moto jacket. I also like mine (in the black colorway) with dresses, trench coats and wide-leg jeans. It’s become one of the most versatile, well-made staples in my closet.
