Is This the Hottest Handbag Shape of 2023?

The shape has become inescapable.

Learn about licensing opportunities.

If you’ve been in the market for a new handbag, you’ve probably noticed something about the latest styles from brands like Isabel Marant, Prada, Dion Lee and more: They’re all distinctly curved.

Falling somewhere between classic and novelty shapes, moon bags offer a happy middle ground that feels different from anything you already have in your closet, but that’s also timeless. Their key feature is the curve on one side — sometimes the top, most often the base — and they might have the word “moon,” “demi-lune” or “luna” in their name. Whatever you call it, this silhouette might be the biggest handbag trend of 2023 so far.
