In fashion, there are few influences as heavy as Carrie Bradshaw. To this day, the character, as portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker first on “Sex in the City” and now in “And Just Like That…,” is inspiring designers and shoppers alike. That includes me: I haven’t stopped thinking about one particular scene in the latest season of the Max continuation where Carrie emerges in a unique, colorfully-striped caftan, styled with a plaid coat, wide-brim hat, crossbody bag and baby-blue heels. I had to investigate.

The earth-toned maxi dress, as if inspired by the rich colors of the desert, is by Marrakesh-based Marrakshi Life. (The brand was founded in 2013 by fashion photographer Randall Bachner, after falling in love with the Moroccan city, and aims to honor the country’s heritage while adding contemporary twists to resort garments.) The dress hangs loosely and hits just above the ankles with a V-neckline and stripes cascading down the bodice in hues from marigold to burnt orange, ash gray and a deep blue.

As is true with most things Parker and Parker-as-Bradshaw touch, the style is just about sold out, and it might not be back in stock anytime soon, since Marrakshi Life is slow-fashion-focused. But for fellow fans of the look, there’s an assortment of options from the same brand: a midi caftan dress in mint colors that hits just below the knee, bright and colorblocked shorts, an airy shirt that looks wearable even in sweltering summer heat… All that’s missing is a brunch crew.
