I’m well aware of my flaws; my overflowing shoe closet is not one of them, though. It is my belief that there’s simply no such thing as owning too many shoes.
As a certified walker — and journalist who runs around the city attending too many events to count — I find myself reaching for a good ol’ comfy sneaker most often. Truth be told, I have dozens to choose from. But lately, the ones in heaviest rotation have been my white Kizik Brisbane Leather kicks.
Earlier this year, the brand kindly gifted me a pair that has since become my most-worn footwear: I wear them on leisurely walks, at work events, to the gym, at wine bars and while running errands. I even wear them while traveling, including during a summer trip to Milan and, most recently, spending a day in Chicago.
The reason I can’t stop wearing them is because they are so damn comfortable — it really feels like walking on a cloud. (Editor’s Note: I, Dhani, have two pairs of Kiziks and can confirm this is true.) That’s thanks to the foam midsole and cushioned insole that put even my podiatrist-designed sneakers to shame. The style is also made with Kizik’s “hands-free technology,” which allows me to quickly slip them on while rushing out the door — without any risk of breaking down the heel.
For a reasonable $119, a second pair just might end up on my Christmas list.
