At Fashionista, we’ve always been passionate about independent and emerging brands and small boutiques. We believe they represent the future of the industry, and the future of this website. So, we’re doubling down on covering (and servicing) this segment of the industry, in which (not to brag or anything) we’ve always been a leader.
On that note, we want to hear about your independent fashion brand, beauty brand or shopping destination — whether it operates stores in every major city or ships handmade charm bracelets out of a garage in Dayton, Ohio.
Here’s what to do to join our growing community of indie fashion and beauty brands and retailers, and be considered for an organic, #notspon (though we love advertisers too!), standalone profile article — by simply filling out a form. (Trust me: This is better than sending an email.)
How to Pitch a Fashion or Beauty Brand
Criteria: Independent brands currently operating in the United States (even if based elsewhere) in all major fashion and beauty categories: apparel, accessories, womenswear, menswear, leather goods, jewelry, eyewear, skin care, cosmetics, hair care, fragrance, nail care, wellness, etc.
What we ask for: Contact info, basic background details on the brand, available products, stockists and imagery. The more you provide, the better our coverage will be. Your personal contact info will not be shared publicly.
What we’ll do with your submission: We’ll turn it into a digestible, standalone profile article to be rolled out as part of a new series called Brand Bio. Some may also be contacted for a more in-depth feature involving an interview. This is free, organic editorial (and social media) coverage — including hyperlinks to e-comm and social media. Our editors will decide if and when an article is published; a submission does not guarantee any coverage.
How to Pitch a Retailer
Criteria: Independent multi-brand retailers currently operating in the United States with a fashion and/or beauty offering. That includes brick-and-mortar boutiques, specialty stores and marketplaces, as well as those only operating online, in addition to salons, spas, showrooms and other concepts with a beauty or fashion retail component.
