When the first Monday in May rolls around, viewers from across the world await the extraordinary glamour and gild of attendees’ looks. The beauty we see on the red carpet sparks envy, too — and there’s one star in particular who never fails to have us mass-shopping Sephora the very next day.

Rihanna‘s late arrival at the 2023 Met Gala was worth the wait for her Camellia-inspired fashion and glam. The latter was put together by Fenty Skin and Beauty, of course, and the following morning, the brands shared the exact products and steps used to achieve the look.

Fenty Beauty’s Global Makeup Artist Priscilla Ono prepped Rihanna’s skin for makeup with the Fenty Skin Pre-Show Glow Instant Retexturizing 10% AHA Treatment for a gentle exfoliation, then used the Fat Water Toner Essence to keep the base dewy.

Ono then applied the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Liquid Foundation in shade 335, and perfected a chiseled contour with the brand’s best-selling Match Stix in Mocha.

The artist then brushed the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Powder Foundation all over to lock in a seamless complexion. To further accentuate Rihanna’s warmth, Ono went in with the Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer in Bajan Gyal.

For Rihanna’s frosted eye (inspired by the giant custom Valentino camellias surrounding her), Ono combined the brand’s Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal and Velvet Cuffs from the True Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette

“I really loved this eye look because while it was a soft wash of high shimmer across her whole lid and brow bone,” Ono said, in a statement. “We also created the illusion of a modern angle by saturating the inner corner of her eye area and her lower lash line. It was glamorous and edgy all at the same time.”

Ono swiped the Hella Thicc Volumizing Mascara over Rihanna’s lashes as a finishing touch on the eyes. The hero product of the glam, though, was her signature red lip, completed with Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored

“It’s that perfect lightweight, long-lasting universal red that really pops,” said Ono of the lip product.

Finally, Rihanna spritzed herself with Fenty Eau de Parfum, which is described as a “warm, sensual floral fragrance” by the brand. And of course, there was a Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Instant Setting and Blotting Powder nearby.
