Harris Reed Gives Vintage Tablecloths and Curtains an 'Encore' for Spring 2025 Collection

Harris Reed presented his Spring 2025 collection on Thursday night, kicking London Fashion Week off with a “demi-couture” bang. For his latest collection titled “Encore,” Reed continued building on his signature over-the-top aesthetic, this time using everyday household materials like curtain panels, upholstery fabrics and more as new fabrications.

To a soundtrack of orchestral renditions of songs including Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” models walked a dimly lit runway wearing larger-than-life looks. The first wore a structured jacket, mermaid-style skirt and oversized collar all covered in a blown-up vintage lace tablecloth pattern. This theme continued in a strapless white lace gown with black bikini-shaped cutouts layered over top, and in another floor-length dress, where a different lace motif draped off of a semi-transparent corset.

Within the venue, an apparatus featuring arched passageways appeared to resemble crinoline — another key element of Reed’s collections. One model wore a pointed white corset encased by a wing-shaped cage, making the typically hidden technique the design’s focus. Another wore a full dress that revealed the crinoline underneath a mesh overlay.

“The craftsmanship that usually sits below the garments is exposed and celebrated,” read a press release. “[These designs showcase] the beauty of the structure that is integral to the brand’s silhouette driven designs.”
