There are perfectly good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In ‘Great Outfits in Fashion History,’ Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.

Nearly 25 years after Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy‘s tragic passing, images of her roaming the Manhattan streets in ultra-chic outfits that look straight out of a Calvin Klein lookbook (she had worked as a publicist for the brand) continue to fill the Pinterest boards of fashion girls everywhere. And whether she was in an office-ready camel pencil skirt or a pair of perfectly tailored straight-leg jeans, one accessory was always present: her trusty oval sunglasses

To this day, Bessette-Kennedy’s frames are one of the most sought-after eyewear styles — slightly wide but not too tall, they provide just enough coverage to keep the eyes mostly hidden, but aren’t so overbearing that they distract from the natural shape of one’s face. Hers were made by Selima Optique, and they’ve become so popular over time, the brand created a slightly bigger version called the “Carolyn.” We’ve also curated six sunglasses that will help boost anyone’s sunglasses game and embody the style icon’s exquisite taste.
