With pumpkin spice lattes in hand and Halloween movie marathons on the brain, team Fashionista spent the better part of October curating our fall wardrobes with cozy sweaters and on-trend outerwear.
Following suede’s shining moment on the Spring 2025 runways, our editors co-signed the material via a spacious chocolate brown tote, sporty burgundy sneakers and a beige shoulder bag with stylish buckled compartments. Boasting an autumn-forward color palette, we expanded our sweater selections with an off-the-shoulder cashmere top, a capsule wardrobe-friendly ribbed turtleneck and a relaxed-fit, ultra-soft charcoal sweater. This month’s standout accessories included a two-toned watch shaped like a blooming flower, a gold charm necklace-bracelet hybrid and timeless braided gold studs.
Ahead, see (and shop!) all of the pieces that caught our attention this October.
Nelle Atelier The Maddy Jean, $258, available here: “I’m 5’2″, and thanks to petite denim brand Nelle Atelier, I now understand the difference between straight-size jeans with a shortened inseam and ones tailored specifically for shorter frames. From the waist to the pockets to the knees to the hem, everything is just in the right place — they look and feel better than any of the other jeans in my closet right now.” —Dhani Mau, Editor in Chief
Alohas Tb.490 Club Suede Raspberry Leather Sneakers, $200, available here: “These sneakers are full of trendy accents — a foldover tongue, burgundy colorway and soccer shoe silhouette — but they’re so versatile, I know they’ll have plenty of longevity in my wardrobe. They’ve quickly become my go-to fall shoes, whether wearing them with jeans, wide-leg pants or athleisure.” —Steph Saltzman, Beauty and Style Director
Núnoo Sally Buckle Suede Bag, $259, available here: “Last August, I obsessed over Núnoo’s pocketed shoulder bag (as did Brooke), and this year the Copenhagen-based brand revamped its black leather best-seller with a warm suede fabric, gold hardware and buckled pockets making it a strong contender for my favorite trendy shoulder bag of the season. I’m obsessed with how roomy it is and how organized it stays, thanks to the many compartments. Strangers have stopped me to just ask about this bag, and they’re always shocked that it looks designer — but without the price tag.” —Savannah Sitton, Contributing Market Editor
Jenny Bird Multi-Wear Charm Necklace Kit, $326 $218, available here: “Call me Massie Block, because I’m on my charm kick. I adore that this playful piece can be worn in two ways: as a necklace or converted into a charm bracelet. I’m more of a minimalist jewelry girl, so I tend to wear it alone, but, for those with a maximalist accessory vibe, this necklace makes for a fantastic layering piece.” —Janelle Sessoms, Staff Writer
Vince Camuto Seshon Boot, $229 $180, available here: “Now that boot season has finally returned, this black heeled pair from Vince Camuto has quickly emerged as my favorite fall footwear given its chic knee-high silhouette and ultra-comfy design. They’re an essential in my autumn wardrobe, especially since they immediately elevate my cooler weather uniform of boot-cut jeans and oversized sweaters.” —Catie Pusateri, Contributing Writer
Aritzia The Farrah Hi-Rise Wide Jean, $110, available here: “These wide-leg jeans are my most worn pair for 2024 by far. From school to (remote) work, casual dinners and GNOs, they’re perfectly cut to throw on with any top. I’d recommend sizing down, though, as they will stretch a bit in the first couple of wears.” —Emma Greene, Editorial Intern
Uniqlo Souffle Yarn Sweater, $50, available here: “If and when L.A. temps dip below 70 degrees, I will have a hard time not wearing this sweater daily. It’s a sensorial dream — incredibly soft, a little stretchy, and thick without being heavy — with the perfect relaxed shape. It works equally well paired with sweats for cozy days in or with a skirt for (also cozy) nights out. And it comes in the best neutral-chic colors: I currently have the dark gray but will likely (at least) add the light green and wine to my collection in the near future.” —Dhani
Oak & Fort Vegan Suede Blazer, $168, available here: “Brown suede is definitely having a moment, and I’m very much on board. I love this vegan take on the trend, with its a boxy, minimalist shape, oversized fit and accessible price point.” —Steph
Ganni X Barbour Printed Wax Anorak Jacket, $745, available here: “This month, Barbour and Ganni released their third capsule together, this time an assortment of covetable workwear jackets. Eager to join the barn coat trend, I had to own this leopard-print short coat. I’m so impressed the quality — it’s double-lined with cinched sleeves for warmth beneath the elongated arm sleeves, meant to be folded to reveal the plaid interior lining — and the design details, from the branded zipper pull to the hidden pockets and corduroy bib collar. This is definitely a forever piece I will wear for years to come.” —Savannah
Target Future Collective Bubble Mini Skirt, $28, available here: “I’ve been impatiently waiting for the bubble hem comeback, and now that’s it here, I’ll be running this trend into the ground. I was at first concerned this mini number would be too short, especially as someone with wider hips. However, I’ve experienced nothing of the sort: It falls just a little higher than finger-tip length and doesn’t hike up as I’m walking around. All I throw on is a pair of tights and a blazer, and it’s become my go-to uniform for whenever I need an outfit that’s quick, but cute.” —Janelle
Zafino Poppy Earring, $27, available here: “Though I rarely diverge from my beloved medium-sized gold hoops, these braided studs got me: They bring an extra touch of elegance to any look. Reminiscent of vintage ’80s statement gold studs, these timelessly chic earrings have earned a top spot in my jewelry rotation.” —Catie
Lamarque Theia Jacket, $695, available here: “I scored this jacket on Poshmark over the summer and have been patiently waiting for cool weather to arrive — now that it has, I’ve been wearing it nonstop. It’s perfectly oversized and easy to throw on over activewear, mini dresses and everything in between.” —Emma
Sézane Gabin Bag, $420, available here: “My fall wardrobe was feeling incomplete without a Big Suede Bag, and this versatile tote has filled that hole perfectly. Made entirely of gorgeous, smooth suede and leather, the quality is excellent — it looks, feels and even smells expensive. The chocolate brown version I have is currently out of stock, but the camel looks equally stunning. (I also think the patent khaki colorway is extremely cool.)” —Dhani
JBW X Luar Atmosphere Watch, $495, available here: “This month, Luar and JBW partnered on their first collaboration, the ‘Atmosphere’ collection of unique timepieces in six different color-ways. Personally, I love the two-tone so that I can wear it with everything, which I do. Complete with a mother of pearl dial and two lab-grown diamonds, the spherical design looks like a blooming flower to me and the 18k plated stainless steel feels weighted and high-end, yet comfortable to wear all day long. I have quite the watch collection, but this is by far my most unique piece, and thus my new favorite.” —Savannah
Ravella Camilla Luxe Cashmere Sweater, $345, available here: “I’m a simp for a good cashmere sweater, and this gem has been my latest obsession. It’s thick enough to keep me warm on cooler fall days (or when my AC is blasting) but thin enough to be comfortably layered with a jacket. I also appreciate that I can tuck it in without looking frumpy. Plus it’s pill-free — it can’t get any better than that.” —Janelle
Quince Cashmere Lined Leather Gloves, $40, available here: “My hands are cold all the time (thank you, Raynaud’s), so once the temperatures start to drop even slightly, it’s time to bring out the gloves. This cashmere-lined pair feels so soft while keeping my perpetually cold fingers toasty warm. Plus, sleek black leather gloves are sure to level up my winter outerwear wardrobe.” —Catie
Uniqlo Merino Ribbed Sweater, $40, available here: “I firmly believe that everyone needs a solid black turtleneck in their fall/winter wardrobe. This Uniqlo version is elegant on its own and makes the perfect base for layering when colder days arrive. Plus, the price is unbeatable for the quality.” —Emma
GCDS Comma Notte Chucky Bag, $645, available here: “October’s been my favorite month of the year since I was a kid, the spookiness is fun but playing dress up is the best. And some brands, like GCDS, agree that a little horror won’t hurt anyone with this hilarious jacquard bag stitched with the beloved murderous doll Chucky.” —Savannah
Modern Citizen Lan Cashmere Off-Shoulder Sweater, $228, available here: “Another cashmere sweater for the win — but this time she’s serving a shoulder tease. For some reason, the off-the-shoulder detail and slightly relaxed fit make me feel like a chic lady who lunches. Sure, the allure goes away when I have to cover it with a jacket…which is why I never wear a jacket with this, duh.” —Janelle
