Fashionista's Best Stories of 2024

The Fashionista team is revisiting the stories that left us and our readers inspired, informed and interested all throughout 2024.

When it came to covering fashion week, we uncovered the secrets behind street style photography, the magic behind the creatively unmatched designs of John Galliano and Marc Jacobs, the business of regional runways and more. We also interviewed established and emerging fashion heavyweights like the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute’s Curator in Charge, Andrew Bolton, and celebrity stylist Kollin Carter. We also explored the realities of attending (and graduating from) fashion school in today’s industry climate.

Many favorites from the editorial staff included stories that broke down the behind-the-scenes details of our favorite performers — from extravagant Broadway costumes to Chappell Roan‘s makeup to the designers who specialize in onstage outfits. Plus, we looked to the future — asking questions about the impacts of AI, the ever-changing retail landscape, beauty and wellness misinformation online and more.
