Q: Which iconic mid-2000s look first proved the power of a festival outfit to sell fashion?

Scroll down for the answer…

A: Kate Moss at Glastonbury in 2005.

The supermodel famously paired classic Hunter Wellington boots with hot pants and a sparkly mini dress to trudge through the mud with Pete Doherty at the English music festival. Her clever combination of style and function may have single-handedly birthed the festival fashion industry as we know it.

The company’s ensuing success, and the enduring ubiquity of those images, spurred more media coverage of festival style and inspired more brands to capitalize on its growing visibility.
