JOB TITLE: Freelance PR Assistant
REPORTS TO: PR Coordinator, PR Manager, VP of Global Communications
Role Summary: The Freelance PR Assistant is a key member of the global communications team. Time management and attention to detail are crucial as you will be assisting the preparation and execution for all daily tasks and special projects under the brands: DKNY, Donna Karan, Karl Lagerfeld Paris, Vilebrequin and G.H. Bass. The Freelance PR Assistant works in tandem and shares a majority of the responsibilities with the PR Assistant.
- Provide administrative and project support to the PR team
- Daily communication with international PR agency on all sample requests and deliveries
- Manage internal and external sample trafficking for all brands using Fashion GPS
- Arrange messengers for external pick-ups/deliveries
- Create FedEx labels for domestic shipments and commercial invoice for international shipments
- Make sure all samples are merchandised neatly by season, category, color, etc.
- Make sure all samples have been returned to the closet by end of day
- Create lists of potential gift recipients including editors, influencers, celebrities
- Organize and pack all gifts
- Facilitate deliveries for all local, national and international deliveries
- Works with PR Assistant to maintain gifting recipient database
- Assist on set for seasonal still life photo shoots
- Creates hi-res image “look books” at the beginning of each season
- Creates bi-weekly press clipping presentation for recap
- Works with PR Assistant to manage and update the media contacts database including influencer information
- Draft weekly trend blasts to be sent to editors, stylists and freelance writers
- Create still life look books for items on the ecomm buy each season for media planning
- Supporting the department during special events, possibly after hours
The Ideal candidate:
- A bachelor’s degree
- 1-2 years of experience in public relations ideally in fashion, retail, lifestyle
- Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely in a variety of settings
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite Applications
- Master of Fashion GPS
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High interest for fashion and lifestyle
- Strong attention to detail
