I love chic versions of things that are usually ugly.
One of my favorite categories of products is chic versions of things that are traditionally not so chic, or tend to be more about function over appearance. Why, I ask, can’t we have both?
Byredo seemed to be on the same wavelength when the fancy fragrance company developed its rinse-free handwash: a liquid in a chic (sorry for overusing that word) black tube that replaces both your ugly drugstore hand sanitizer as well as your hand cream. It’s a genius combination, given that both hand wash and hand sanitizers tend to be quite drying. And like everything in the Byredo universe of candles, perfumes, body washes and so on, they smell amazing — another quality traditional hand sanitizers tend to lack.
I chose the rose scent (disclosure: It was gifted to me but I picked it out), which is absolutely lovely. It feels light and refreshing on my hands, and truly is moisturizing. That said, if you’re solely looking to richly moisturize your hands, a necessity in the colder months that are coming up, you may be better off with a pure hand cream, but if you’re just looking to give your paws a little fancy, germ-killing love and keep the contents of your purse looking elegant, I think this is worth the slight splurge.
