Dhani's Been Obsessed With These Ballet Flats Since February

I’m finally pulling the trigger.

Mansur Gavriel Dream Ballerina, $295, available here.

When I first saw Mansur Gavriel‘s debut ballet flat on some editor’s Instagram story during New York Fashion Week in February, I may have audibly gasped. As someone who hasn’t owned a pair of ballet flats since that period of the mid-aughts when Kate Moss was wearing them constantly, I didn’t know they were something I wanted back in my wardrobe until I saw Mansur’s.

Though the custom monogramming certainly pops on Instagram, it’s the overall shape that draws me to this style. I love the high vamp — reminiscent of the once-trendy (and honestly still cool) glove shoe — and otherwise classic shape with a tiny heel. They have a similar aesthetic to Chanel’s flats, and since I cannot afford those, these feel like an excellent alternative.

Every now and then I check to see if they’re in stock anywhere and they usually aren’t, but the brand appears to have just restocked them on its website. The only issue now, aside from deciding what expenses I need to eliminate in order to pay for them, is deciding which color to get: I’m inclined to go for black, as is the case with pretty much every shoe I buy, but there’s something appealing about the white as well. Luckily, you can’t really go wrong with either.
