CR FASHION BOOK and CR MEN are looking for a Digital Assistant to report to the brands’ Digital Director and support their Digital Associate.
EDITORIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain day-to-day responsibilities of CRFashionBook.com and CR MEN
- Lead daily search of syndication stories from other Hearst publications and comb through news for relevant stories and news to cover
- Directly manage daily columns and weekly Horoscope
- Write both quick news stories and long-form features spanning across fashion, beauty, celebrity, culture, and men’s
- Oversee editorial production process for all stories, including building, photo selection, copy-editing, fact-checking, and write approval — stories should be near perfect when sent for top edit
- Making sure all stories are SEO-optimized and ideal for Google search
- Liaise with CR’s Fashion department to review all fashion credits for shoots
- Build all CR Fashion Book print stories for online
- Generate weekly newsletter
- Coordinate backstage photography with fashion brands and photographers during Fashion Month
- Attend fashion and beauty PR events, representing CR
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Update, manage, and control shared digital line sheet
- Hire, train, and manage all editorial and social interns as direct contact and update intern book and style guide as needed
- Manage Digital Director’s schedule and editorial department calendar
- Take notes during editorial pitch meetings
- Organize all photos, videos, and assets in Dropbox
- Maintain CR Digital’s beauty closet
- Additional administrative work, including paperwork, scanning, helping trafficking with samples if needed, planning events for the office, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-3 years of experience at a relevant fashion publication or platform
- Strong interest and knowledge of fashion
- Education in journalism, fashion, and media
- Excellent writing skills and able to turn around copy quickly
- Enthusiasm, interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and flexibility
- Able to work under pressure and deadlines
- Knowledge of best web practices and ability to grasp new concepts quickly
- Experience in CMS programs, html, css, adobe photoshop, and social media tools
