Butter Yellow Is Taking Over the Spring 2025 Runways

It’s no secret that bright colors and florals often reign supreme in the spring collections, but one creamy, mouthwatering hue has emerged on the New York runways as a true standout. Butter yellow has already made its rounds within the fashion world (see: Sabrina Carpenter‘s Frolov heart cutout dress that permanently lives on our moodboards), but now, New York Fashion Week designers are co-signing the shade as spring’s ‘It’ color front runner.

Among a sea of belted pastel ensembles, Sergio Hudson championed the yellow tone with mini dresses, pantsuits and satin skirts. Tibi gave showgoers a masterclass in color blocking, pairing its butter yellow garments — suiting-inspired vests, knotted skirts, flowing shirts — with pops of vibrant red. Meanwhile, Simkhai spotlighted the shade via a midi dress adorned with three-dimensional floral appliqués and Who Decides War incorporated it into an oversized textural top and a frilly cardigan.
