Soon, you’ll be able to wear a full Brandon Blackwood outfit to match your Brandon Blackwood bag. The brand announced this week it’s launching its first apparel line: BB Studio.

The first capsule collection will drop June 14, spanning a colorful mix of wardrobe staples including bodysuits, tank tops, cropped tees, skirts, pants and dresses in soft ribbed fabrics. The New York-based label shared that its starting colors are inspired by the summer, which is why there’s “Matcha Green,” white, hot pink and pastel blue. Prices will range from $35 to $95, with sizing spanning XS to 3X.

It felt important to offer customers options for their entire closets: “We noticed on social media that our bags were not just an addition to a look but rather the inspiration. We wanted to create a collection of everyday basics that does not take away the spotlight [and] rather highlights our accessories,” the brand shared in a press release.

BB Studio carries the baton of momentum Brandon Blackwood has built since launching in 2015. It initially won over fashion with its viral, boxy “Kendrick” handbags that have been seen on celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams and Megan Thee Stallion and even attracted a CFDA Award nomination for Best Accessory Designer. In 2022, Sheryl Lee Ralph won an Emmy in Blackwood’s first-ever gown design; since then Blackwood launched footwear, outerwear and swimwear, while continuing to work on custom looks (including for Beyoncé on her “Renaissance Tour”).

“Clothing is something I’ve taken my time to venture into. Every custom, costume, swimsuit and coat we create inches us a bit closer to the ultimate goal. I’m excited to see where this journey leads myself and the team,” the designer wrote in an Instagram caption last week about his recent costumes for A.I.M’s contemporary dances, days ahead of the apparel announcement.

The brand also teased that additional colors and styles will debut later in the year.
